Pictorial Analysis of the Green Abyss:
National Geographic Magazine is well known for its’ unique photos. The article The Green Abyss is full of photos that help to tell the story of Michael Fay and his 1,200-mile trek across Central Africa. On a separate sheet of paper, you need to choose 10 photos and respond to the following questions. Be sure you identify the photo you are analyzing by writing down the page number on your response sheet. You must respond to each question although the examples listed are there to help you. Do not expect to use all the references in this list.
You may use the Five Themes of Geography Web to answer these questions. A skeleton has been provided for you. Please fill in the appropriate boxes and add your observations of the photos in the appropriate places. Questions 4, 5 and 6 will need to be answered in complete well thought out sentences on the back of the five themes web you complete.
